Six Flags Parks Receive Autism Certification

All 26 Six Flags amusement parks in North America are now Certified Autism Centers.
Six Flags Entertainment Corporation partnered with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) to equip employees with tools and training to better serve park-goers. The certification requires that at least 80% of guest-facing staff at each park complete a training and certification program through IBCCES as well as complete onsite audits and make a commitment to ongoing training.
Each park has:
Front-line staff who can identify visual cues to better accommodate guests with disabilities.
A sensory guide for each ride and attraction to help guests make informed decisions based on their level of comfort and experience.
In-park sensory places for a less-stimulating environment.
Expanded menus for dietary restrictions.
An updated accessibility guide on the website, as well as in guest relations and ride information centers at the parks.
IBCCES has created a series of certification programs for the amusement and attractions industry for autism, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, sensory disorders, dementia, mental health, dyslexia, and other special needs.
