The ASHA Board of Ethics has found the following speech-language pathologist in violation of the association’s Code of Ethics. The information below includes the version of the code violated, the rationale and the sanction, with its effective date.

  • Rationale: Pled guilty to a felony in the Superior Court of Cobb County, State of Georgia, for more than $400,000 in Medicaid fraud; hired unqualified, unlicensed personnel and billed for their speech-language therapy services; billed for services not rendered; used, and directed staff to use, her electronic signature and Medicaid billing number for all services delivered—including services delivered by her staff—for approximately two years; and falsely completed her application for ASHA certification.

  • Code (2010r): I, I-D, I-E, I-F, I-O, III, III-D, III-E, IV, IV-A, IV-B, IV-C, IV-E.

  • Sanction: Revocation of membership and certification for 10 years, effective May 9, 2018.
