Are you a student or clinician interested in enrolling in a master’s or doctoral program in communications sciences and disorders? Plan to visit the Graduate School Fair/PhD Center at the 2018 ASHA Convention in Boston.
Organizers have restructured the event in response to feedback from exhibitors and attendees. Representatives will be available during all event hours to speak about master’s programs, entry-level audiology clinical doctoral programs (AuD), post-entry-level clinical doctoral programs, and research doctoral (PhD) programs.
The fair and center will be open 11 a.m.–4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, and Friday, Nov. 16, and 9 a.m.–12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17.
The event will take place adjacent to the Poster Hall and close to several lounges, including Faculty-Researcher, Accreditation and NSSLHA. The hall is also near the main Exhibit Hall and many session rooms.
The event gives students and academic faculty the chance to learn about one another in an informal atmosphere. The new hours and having all programs present during all exhibit hours gives students flexibility to experience Convention more fully, and to attend activities at the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) lounge at their own pace.
At the PhD Center, students and clinicians considering research doctoral programs meet individually with program representatives to learn about the research doctoral education process and opportunities specific to each program.
Representatives from the Communication Sciences and Disorders Central Application System will be available to answer questions about the application process, and representatives from the Educational Testing Service will be onsite to provide information about the Praxis exams.
The list of programs participating in the Graduate School Fair/PhD Center is online and frequently updated. It will also be posted onsite in several Convention locations and available at Convention information booths.
Academic programs interested in exhibiting can register online. Early bird registration closes Sept. 17.
The fair and center are co-sponsored by NSSLHA and ASHA. For more information, contact academicaffairs@asha.org.
