ASHA received a 2018 Gold Circle Award from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) for its campaign to launch the ASHA Leadership Academy.
The annual Gold Circle Awards recognize associations for extraordinary marketing, membership and communications efforts in 15 different categories. Success metrics may include product or service revenue, member engagement with the product or service, and the product’s effect on member recruitment and retention.
“This award recognizes associations who are effectively including elements of creativity, design, technology and metrics,” says John H. Graham, ASAE president and CEO, adding that marketing, membership and communications are the primary means for sharing information with members and staff and for branding the organization to the global community.
The ASHA Leadership Academy, which launched Oct. 30, 2017, offers members—from new professionals to seasoned leaders—ways to enhance their leadership skills. It includes assessments of individual leadership strengths and style; self-paced webinars; a resource center of recommended readings, articles and videos; access to other ASHA leadership and mentoring programs; and an online discussion group.
To launch the academy, ASHA staff from a variety of departments developed a creative brief and marketing plan, with an overall graphics campaign theme, that included articles, advertisements, email communication, social media postings, brochures and a lounge at the 2017 ASHA Convention.
Total webinar views in the first three months reached 856; more than 209 members chose to earn CE credit from webinars; and 359 members joined the online community.
