The ASHA Board of Directors recently voted to:
  • Support and approve funding for Innovational Services’ proposal, “Revitalization of an Aligned Sense of Purpose,” to improve the combined organizational dynamics and increase the levels of cohesiveness, collaboration, accountability and alignment among the Academy of Doctors of Audiology, American Academy of Audiology, and ASHA.

  • Approve ASHA members Hannah Kifle and David Rule as ASHA representatives at the April 18–20, 2018, meeting of the World Health Organization’s Technical Working Group on Rehabilitation in Bangalore, India.

  • Sunset the Leadership Cultivation and Nominations Board and enable the Committee on Leadership Cultivation and the Committee on Nominations and Elections to be separate, stand-alone committees.

  • Approve additional travel funds for Shari Robertson, 2018 president-elect, to travel to Shanghai, China, as an invited keynote presenter at the Chinese Ministry of Health’s Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics conference, May 31–June 3, 2018.

  • Approve a position statement on Gun Violence and School Safety.
