Professionals from outside of communication sciences and disorders (CSD) who co-present ASHA convention sessions related to interprofessional education (IPE) and interprofessional practice (IPP) may be eligible for convention travel stipends.
In a program piloted in 2017, ASHA has earmarked up to $25,000 to support ongoing efforts to promote IPE/IPP team presentations at the ASHA Convention. The awards are made based on IPE/IPP submissions to ASHA’s Call for Papers, which opens Jan. 30. The ASHA Convention will take place Nov. 15–17 in Boston.
To be eligible, the presenter must be part of an interprofessional team that includes a speech-language pathologist, audiologist or CSD researcher. The proposed session may not be an invited, flash or poster session. No more than two non-CSD presenters per session may receive the stipend.
