First-Timers’ Welcome

Pennsylvania Convention Center, Grand Ballroom A
Is this your first ASHA Convention experience? Come to this popular gathering to learn about the convention and to preview programs and activities slated for the next three days. You’ll have an opportunity to meet ASHA President Jaynee A. Handelsman and Convention Co-Chairs Michael J. Flahive and A. Tucker Gleason, as well as other ASHA representatives. Enjoy light refreshments.
Political Action Committee (PAC) Reception (ASHA members only)
Wednesday, Nov. 16, 5:30–7:30 p.m.

This annual special event benefits ASHA’s political action committee, which serves as the political voice of the audiology and speech-language pathology professions on Capitol Hill. A suggested donation of $50 to ASHA-PAC secures your reception ticket. Stay tuned for an update on the venue.
Welcome Reception

Pennsylvania Convention Center, Exhibit Hall
The first day of the ASHA Convention is buzzing with activity, so bring your energy to the Welcome Reception in the Exhibit Hall on Thursday evening—a dedicated time to catch up with friends and colleagues, mingle with exhibitors, and check out the exhibits. Socialize, network, and enjoy light snacks and a cash bar before you head to the twilight sessions. This reception is open to all fully registered attendees; guest tickets are available for friends and family.
EAA and ASHA Networking Reception
Thursday, Nov. 17, 7:30–9:30 p.m.
Philadelphia Marriott, Independence Ballroom D
“Celebrating Everyday Leaders in Childhood Hearing,” hosted by the Educational Audiology Association and ASHA in partnership with the local pediatric hearing community, is a gathering of pediatric educational, clinical and research audiologists and speech-language pathologists. Convention attendees are invited, as are local professionals who may not be attending the ASHA Convention, including teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing and early intervention providers.
Party at the Market (ASHFoundation Fundraiser)

Reading Terminal Market
Come for a delicious evening of food, drink, entertainment and friendship to celebrate the ASHFoundation’s 70th anniversary and Philadelphia’s historic public market. Selected Reading Market vendors will prepare local delicacies and small bites, with an open bar. Purchase tickets on the convention registration form.
Open Houses
Friday, Nov. 18, 8:30–11 p.m.
A number of universities and affiliated organizations host open houses following the Awards Ceremony. Watch for the online schedule of open houses in October.
Closing Party
Saturday, Nov. 19, 6:30–9:30 p.m.
Everyone is invited to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, one of the largest and most renowned museums in the country. Discover beautiful, intriguing and unexpected works of art and architectural achievements from the United States, Asia, Europe and Latin America as you browse the museum and enjoy light refreshments and drinks with friends and colleagues. Fans of the “Rocky” films will recognize the museum, made famous by Rocky Balboa’s run up the front steps. Whether you love art and culture or just want a snapshot of yourself on the famous steps, you won’t want to miss this finale.
Tickets—$5 for convention attendees and $20 for guests—can be purchased on the convention registration form.
