Nominations Open for ASHA National Elections

Nominations for open positions on ASHA’s 2019–2021 Board of Directors, Audiology Advisory Council and Speech-Language Pathology Council are open through Dec. 5. The term of office for all positions is Jan. 1, 2019, to Dec. 31, 2021.
Board of Directors
Nominees for the four open Board positions should be ASHA members who have a willingness to engage in active deliberation, leadership skills that will advance ASHA’s strategic plan, and a commitment to addressing the professional needs of audiologists and speech-language pathologists.
Nominations are open for:
  • President-elect (one year each as president-elect, president and past president)

  • Vice president for academic affairs in speech-language pathology

  • Vice president for audiology practice

  • Vice president for science and research

Advisory Councils
Nominees for advisory council positions should have an interest in advising and supporting the work of ASHA’s Board of Directors, enjoy taking part in active discussion on critical professional issues, and be willing to volunteer time and talent to advance the professions. Consider nominating an ASHA member or submitting a self-nomination (strongly encouraged).
The open seats on the Audiology Advisory Council are in Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York and North Carolina.
The open seats on the Speech-Language Pathology Advisory Council are in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Kansas.
