The ASHA Board of Directors recently voted to:
  • Approve the Board of Ethics Issues in Ethics statement, “Supervision of Student Clinicians” (2017), as revised from the 2010 version.

  • Approve the updated ASHA Reserves Policy to include proposed discretionary fund spending guidelines.

  • Approve Jessica Sullivan (audiology) and Laurie Sterling (speech-language pathology) as co-chairs of the 2019 Convention Program Committee.

  • Approve changes to the performance measures for Strategic Objective #4—Enhance service delivery across the continuum of care to increase value and access to services; Strategic Objective #5—Increase influence and demonstrated value of audiology and speech-language pathology services; and Strategic Objective #7—Enhance international engagement.

  • Re-appoint Pamela duPont to serve as the ASHA representative to the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation for another five-year term.

  • Appoint Gayla Poling to serve as ASHA’s representative to the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Foundation to update the Clinical Practice Guideline: Sudden Hearing Loss.
