The American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation is accepting applications from master’s and doctoral students in audiology and speech-language pathology.
New Century Scholars Doctoral Scholarships
Deadline: May 8
Up to 15 scholarships of $10,000 each will be awarded to doctoral candidates planning to pursue a teacher-investigator career in higher education.
Graduate Student Scholarships
Deadline: May 22
Up to 15 scholarships of $5,000 each are available for master’s and doctoral (research or clinical) students who demonstrate academic achievement and promise. Applicants must be accepted to or enrolled in full-time graduate study in a U.S. communication sciences and disorders program and not have received prior ASHFoundation funding.
For 2017, this competition includes three special scholarship categories:
  • International Scholarship—priority to international students studying in the United States, supported by the Kala Singh Memorial Fund.

  • Minority Scholarship—priority to students who are members of a racial or ethnic minority group and U.S. citizens, supported by the Minority Scholarship Fund.

  • NSSLHA Scholarship—for undergraduate seniors with active National Student Speech Language Hearing Association membership who will begin graduate study in fall 2017, supported by the NSSLHA Scholarship Fund.

Student Research Grants in Audiology and Early Childhood Language Development
Deadline: May 22
Grants of $2,000 each will be awarded for student-initiated research studies in two areas: new research in clinical or rehabilitative audiology (supported by the Ira M. Ventry and Brad M. Friedrich Memorial Funds) and new research in early childhood language development (supported by the Arlene and Noel Matkin Memorial Fund).
