The ASHA Board of Ethics found the following formerly certified speech-language pathologist in violation of the association’s Code of Ethics. The listed violations refer to the version of the code and the specific rules and principles involved.
Beginning with the April 2017 issue, Board of Ethics decisions in the print version of The ASHA Leader will include the name, location and sanction (with effective date) of members found to have violated the ASHA Code of Ethics. Full details of the decisions, including the rationales and violated principles and rules, will be posted on The ASHA Leader Online.
Kinsley Roper Wentzky, Columbia, South Carolina
  • Rationale: Pled guilty in the Richland County 5th Judicial Circuit Court of South Carolina to two counts of sex/sexual battery with adolescent students from the high school where she was employed.

  • Violations (2010r): III, III-A, IV, IV-E, IV-F, IV-N

  • Sanctions: Withholding of membership and certification for eight years and an Order to Cease and Desist, effective Dec. 21, 2016.
