The ASHA Board of Directors recently voted to:
  • Approve the appointments of Kim Callahan, Jennifer Laack, Megan Swank and Kelly Spiller to the Audiology Advisory Council and Amber Heape to the Speech-Language Pathology Advisory Council.

  • Accept the “Learning Disabilities and Achieving High Quality Education Standards” document of the National Joint Committee on Learning Disabilities, created to inform stakeholders who provide services and supports to students with learning disabilities about the critical issues involved in ensuring that these students achieve high-quality education standards and are well-prepared for college and careers.

  • Approve the reappointments of Arlene Pietranton, Emily Kinsler and Joseph Cerquone for three-year terms to the National Association for Hearing and Speech Action (NAHSA) Board of Directors.

  • Approve ASHA’s membership in the Interprofessional Education Collaborative, a 15-member collaborative of health professions to help prepare future health professionals for enhanced team-based patient care and improved population health outcomes.
