Do you have colleagues you believe should be acknowledged for their contributions to communication sciences and disorders (CSD)? Nominate them for 2017 ASHA awards by March 16.
Recipients will be recognized at an awards ceremony at the 2017 ASHA Convention, scheduled for Nov. 9–11 in Los Angeles.
Nominations will be accepted for the following:
Honors of the Association recognize distinguished contribution: a lifetime of innovative clinical practice, insightful and rigorous research, creative administration, effective legislative activity, outstanding teaching, professional excellence in a single area, or other distinguished professional contributions.
Fellowship of the Association recognize outstanding contributions to the professions that are seen as significant within and beyond one’s community or state.
Certificate of Recognition for Special Contributions in Multicultural Affairs recognizes distinguished achievement and contributions in multicultural professional education, multicultural research, and/or clinical service to multicultural populations.
Outstanding Service Award recognizes exemplary service by an individual or group on behalf of or for the association in two of three areas: administration, program development and service to members.
Certificate of Recognition for Special Contributions in Higher Education recognizes an individual or team under contract as a faculty member or clinical instructor at a regionally accredited college or university for achievement and/or contributions to classroom teaching, clinical teaching, student mentoring, or development of innovative educational techniques and technologies.
Distinguished Service Award recognizes significant contributions in consumer advocacy, governmental affairs, public awareness, research or service by someone who is not a member of ASHA or another CSD organization.
Dorothy Dreyer Award for Volunteerism acknowledges extraordinary effort by a member who volunteers time and other resources to ASHA.
Early Career Contributions in Research Award acknowledges scientific accomplishments in CSD by individuals in the early stages of their careers who are under contract with an institution of higher education or other research facility.
Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Contributions in International Achievement recognizes distinguished achievements and significant contributions in CSD that have international impact. Nominees may be ASHA members or nonmembers whose work includes international education, publications, research, program development, administration or service delivery.
Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Contributions in Preschool–Grade 12 Education Settings recognizes distinguished achievement or contributions in schools through development of innovative therapeutic and/or service delivery models, materials and products; research or publications; administration; or advocacy and outreach.
