The ASHA Board of Directors recently voted to:
  • Appoint Lauren Calandruccio and Tommie L. Robinson Jr. to serve as trustees on the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation for three-year terms.

  • Approve the model regulations for state licensure of audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and audiology and speech-language pathology assistants. The model regulations were developed as a companion to ASHA’s model bill for state licensure of audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and audiology and speech-language pathology assistants.

  • Accept a report from the Ad Hoc Committee on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF), which was charged with applying the ICF framework to goal setting and outcomes measurements, and helping members focus on function by advising, providing input, reviewing and promoting specific products.

  • Approve additional funding for a video-conferencing component to the Oct. 27–28 Audiology Education Summit.
