If you have a colleague who you believe should be acknowledged for his or her contributions to communication sciences and disorders, ASHA invites you to nominate that person for a 2016 ASHA award.
The deadline for nominations is 3 p.m. ET on March 17.
Recipients will be recognized at an awards ceremony at the 2016 ASHA Convention, scheduled for Nov. 17–19 in Philadelphia.
ASHA members may nominate colleagues for any of the 10 awards below. Full information about each award, nomination requirements and submissions is available online.
Honors of the Association recognize a lifetime of innovative clinical practice, insightful and rigorous research, creative administration, effective legislative activity, outstanding teaching, professional excellence in a single area, or other distinguished professional contributions.
Fellowship of the Association recognizes outstanding contributions to the professions that are seen as significant within and beyond one’s community or state.
Distinguished Service Award recognizes significant contributions—in consumer advocacy, governmental affairs, public awareness, research or service—by someone outside of the professions.
Certificate of Recognition for Special Contributions in Multicultural Affairs recognizes distinguished achievement and contributions in multicultural research or professional education and/or clinical service to multicultural populations.
Outstanding Service Award recognizes exemplary contributions to ASHA in two of three areas: administration, program development and service to members.
Certificate of Recognition for Special Contributions in Higher Education recognizes achievement and/or contributions to classroom teaching, clinical teaching, student mentoring, or development of innovative educational techniques and technologies.
Dorothy Dreyer Award for Volunteerism acknowledges extraordinary effort by a member who volunteers time and other resources to ASHA.
Early Career Contributions in Research Award acknowledges scientific accomplishments by researchers in the early stages of their careers.
Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Contributions in International Achievement recognizes ASHA members’ or nonmembers’ distinguished achievements and significant contributions that have international impact.
Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Contributions in Preschool–Grade 12 Education Settings recognizes achievement through development of innovative therapeutic and/or service delivery models, materials, and products; research or publications; administration; or advocacy and outreach.
