The National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management (NCHAM) at Utah State University offers free videos to support early intervention programs looking to implement telepractice.
Three videos introduce the idea of telepractice to families, providers and administrators.
NCHAM, established in 1990, is a multidisciplinary center dedicated to implementing and improving comprehensive and effective Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) systems. NCHAM conducts research, collaborates with key agencies and organizations, and serves as the National Technical Resource Center for EHDI.
A multi-site NCHAM study found that children who are deaf or hard of hearing who received telepractice services made as much or more progress than children who received services through traditional in-person visits. It also found that families who received telepractice services felt equally supported, knowledgeable, and confident in fostering their child’s development as families who received traditional services.
