SIG 12 Seeks Distinguished AAC Lecturer

ASHA Special Interest Group 12, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), is seeking nominees for the 2016 Edwin and Esther Prentke AAC Distinguished Lecture, to be presented at the 2016 ASHA Convention in Philadelphia.
The lecture, sponsored by the Prentke Romich Company and Semantic Compaction Systems, recognizes and is delivered by an accomplished person who uses AAC. Potential presenters must have made a unique contribution to the AAC field or had a unique experience as an AAC user. Nominees also must have public speaking experience and be able to answer audience members’ questions.
The presentation must meet all ASHA continuing education standards for learning activities: content must be scholarly, presented at the graduate level or higher, and delivered by a recognized scholar in the topic area.
The recipient receives a stipend to cover convention-related costs.
To submit a nomination, email SIGs@asha.org with “AAC Lecture” in the subject line and you will receive instructions on accessing the nomination site. Nominations must be submitted by Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, at 3 p.m. EST.
