The ASHA Board of Directors recently voted to:
  • Approve the policy section of the standard operating procedures for the Scientific and Professional Education Board.

  • Approve resources to fund seven additional Audiology/Hearing Science Research Travel Award applicants to attend—and participate in select activities at—the 2015 ASHA Convention in Denver.

  • Appoint Lisa Cole, ASHA chief staff officer for communications, to the Board of Directors of the National Association for Hearing and Speech Action.

  • Modify the title, vision, mission and goals of ASHA Special Interest Group 8, Public Health Issues Related to Hearing and Balance.

  • Extend the ad hoc committee that is updating the scope of practice in speech-language pathology.
