The ASHA Board of Directors recently voted to:
  • Approve Anita Vereb (audiology) and Mary Casper (speech-language pathology) as co-chairs of the 2017 Convention Program Committee.

  • Approve two issues in ethics statements revised by the Board of Ethics: Public Announcements and Public Statements, and Prescription.

  • Accept the June 2015 report of the Academic Affairs Board on the role of undergraduate education in CSD.

  • Accept the report of the Ad Hoc Committee on Guidelines for the Clinical Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Approve the June 2015 Guidelines for the Clinical Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Approve ASHA’s partnership with other organizations to plan and execute international conferences in five countries.

  • Add a clinical practitioner position to the Ad Hoc Committee on the Audiology Education Summit.

  • Approve ASHA to be listed as a supporter of the concept of an International Year of Sound in 2019.

  • Appoint Teresa Renee Charlifue-Smith for the speech-language pathology practitioner position on the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) for a four-year term.

  • Approve funding to make the ASHA Associates Program a permanent operating program of the association.

  • Acknowledge and accept the 2014 audit report.

  • Reaffirm that 2016 ASHA dues will remain the same as 2015 dues.
