Melanie W. Hudson, 2016 chair of the ASHA Speech-Language Pathology Advisory Council (SLPAC), will join the Board on Jan. 1, 2016.
Hudson is a director of EBS Healthcare, a staffing company for speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists and physical therapists providing services to clients age 0 to 21.
Hudson received her bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and master’s degree from George Washington University. She has worked in public schools and private practice in Virginia, and was an externship clinical supervisor and guest lecturer for several Washington, D.C.-area universities. Hudson served as an adjunct faculty member at Georgia State University and provides training in clinical supervision for universities across the country.
She has been a member of the SLPAC since 2012, and served as coordinator of ASHA Special Interest Group 11, Administration and Supervision, and on the Board of Ethics. She is also a past president of the Georgia Speech-Language-Hearing Association (GSHA).
Hudson, an ASHA Fellow, received GSHA Honors and honorary alumna status from the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at California State University-Northridge.
