ASHA is a great place to work, according to two D.C.-area organizations.
The Washington Post included ASHA in its 2015 list of Top Workplaces, the newspaper’s annual effort “to identify the best places to work in greater Washington.”
Based on employee surveys on a host of factors, including quality of leadership, pay and benefit practices, and work-life balance issues, the list includes 150 organizations in three size categories. ASHA placed 20th of midsize businesses.
ASHA was specifically cited for its “robust wellness program” that is in keeping with its health-related mission.
The Alliance for Workplace Excellence cited ASHA in five categories, naming the association as a diversity champion; awarding seals of approval in workplace excellence and wellness; presenting an ecoleadership award; and granting a new best practices award for supporting workers of all abilities.
ASHA was one of only two employers that received the new best practices award for creating a diverse and inclusive workforce, especially for workers of all abilities.
The Alliance for Workplace Excellence is a nonprofit organization founded by Montgomery County, Maryland, and Discovery Communications to empower employers to build excellence in the workplace as a means of supporting the quality of life for employees, their families and the community.
