In response to comments from universities and students, the Graduate School Fair and PhD Information Center at the 2015 ASHA Convention will be in a main exhibit hall and follow a new format.
Co-sponsored by the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) and ASHA, the fair offers students and faculty from communication sciences and disorders graduate programs an opportunity to learn about one another in an informal atmosphere. Exhibitors will register in advance for a two-hour time slot in which to showcase their academic programs on Thursday, Nov. 12; they also have a second opportunity for a time slot on Saturday, Nov. 14. The fair will not conflict with NSSLHA activities, allowing students to take part in both events.
The list of programs participating in the fair will be updated. Schedules will be posted throughout the convention center and available at convention information booths.
Other fair exhibitors will include representatives from the Communications Sciences and Disorders Central Application System, who will answer questions about the application process, and the Educational Testing Service, who will provide information on the Praxis examinations.
Exhibitors at the PhD Information Center pre-register for time slots on Friday, Nov. 13, and/or Saturday, Nov. 14. Program representatives meet individually with clinicians and students considering research doctoral programs.
Academic programs interested in exhibiting at either program can register online. Early-bird registration closes Sept. 12.
