St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana, will begin offering a master’s program in speech pathology in August, pending acceptance as a candidate for accreditation by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.
The program is one of the first three graduate programs at the college and, unlike the all-women undergraduate college, is open to men and women.
The on-campus graduate program builds on the college’s undergraduate program in communicative sciences and disorders. Graduate students will participate in clinical experiences at the campus-based Judd Leighton Speech and Language Clinic and through affiliations with more than 40 community agencies. The clinic, which opened in fall 2014, and the establishment of the program are partly funded by a $1 million grant from the Judd Leighton Foundation.
