“VOICE: The Original Social Media” is the motto of the 2015 World Voice Day, held on Thursday, April 16.
Through voice and vocal events, the initiative aims to show the public that voice matters, according to the World Voice Day website.
The 2014 World Voice Day featured 461 events in 50 countries. In the United States, for example, organizers hosted voice screening, vocal health seminars and workshops, performances, and other events across the country.
The 2015 U.S. coordinators are Rahul Shrivastav, vice president for instruction at the University of Georgia, and Ronald Scherer, professor in the Bowling Green State University Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
The World Voice Day website offers materials, a list of previous events and a form to register WVD-related events.
