With the recent addition of pages on childhood fluency disorders, hearing loss in people 5 and older, and collaborating with interpreters, translators, and transliterators, the ASHA Practice Portal has information on 21 clinical and professional issues.
In addition to comprehensive practice guidance, each topic page includes direct links to ASHA’s evidence maps and quick access to tools, templates and patient handouts on three additional topics:
  • SLPs and audiologists who want to know what factors to consider when selecting an interpreter can find the answers on “Collaborating With Interpreters, Translators, and Transliterators.”

  • Audiologists curious about potential modifications to pure-tone audiometry can find information on the “Hearing Loss: Ages 5+” page.

  • Clinicians interested in differentiating between typical disfluencies and stuttering can find resources on “Childhood Fluency Disorders.”

Content for ASHA’s Practice Portal pages is developed through a comprehensive process that includes multiple rounds of subject matter expert review. For more information or to volunteer as a topic reviewer, visit www.asha.org/practice-portal or contact portalinfo@asha.org.
