This year’s American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation fundraiser at the ASHA convention—a Latin Party at the famed Cuba Libre Restaurant and Rum Bar—is hot, hot, hot!
With vintage architecture, Cuba Libre’s ambience captures the essence of old Cuba. Guests will enjoy Cuban cuisine, the beat of Latin music and, yes, signature mojitos at the restaurant, located close to the Convention Center and convention hotels.
Two-time James Beard Award-winning chef Guillermo Pernot, a renowned chef and restaurateur, has put together a contemporary interpretation of traditional Cuban cuisine, complemented by a number of authentic Cuban cocktails. He describes his culinary style as passionate, flavorful and true (the same terms some use to describe the ASHFoundation’s work!). This unique event raises funds to advance knowledge and scholars in communication sciences and disorders.
The Latin Party will take place Thursday evening, Nov. 20, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased on the convention registration form.
