ASHA kicked off the fourth year of its Leadership Development Program with 27 health care professionals in April, and will welcome 29 emerging leaders into its second 2014 session this month.
The programs include a one-day workshop and several online webinars to explore leadership-related topics such as building high-performing teams, motivating and influencing others, managing conflict, coaching and mentoring, and thinking strategically. Two new program topics for 2014 are leadership styles and ASHA governance. Participants also review project planning as they begin the year-long process of completing the program’s required leadership project.
The two 2013 cohorts—early career professionals and school-based professionals—completed their programs in March and May.
