Emilio Alonso-Mendoza is the new chief executive officer of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, an organization that promotes listening and spoken language for individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Alonso-Mendoza most recently served as president and CEO of Take Stock in Children, a statewide Florida initiative that provides scholarships and volunteer adult mentors to help low-income students earn a college degree. Previously he was president of the Catholic Community Foundation, overseeing operations of the $120 million foundation, raising the organization’s profile and leading development efforts of the three-county Archdiocese of Miami. He also served in leadership positions with the Children’s Home Society of Florida and the National Parkinson Foundation.
