Affiliates of 12 ASHA Special Interest Groups have until June 18 to elect members of their respecting coordinating committees, which plan and coordinate SIG activities.
The SIGs holding elections are:
  • 1, Language Learning and Education

  • 2, Neurophysiology and Neurogenic Speech and Language Disorders

  • 3, Voice and Voice Disorders

  • 4, Fluency and Fluency Disorders

  • 8, Public Health Issues Related to Hearing and Balance

  • 9, Hearing and Hearing Disorders in Childhood

  • 10, Issues in Higher Education

  • 11, Administration and Supervision

  • 12, Augmentative and Alternative Communication

  • 14, Communication Disorders and Sciences in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Populations

  • 15, Gerontology

  • 17, Global Issues in Communication Sciences and Related Disorders

The nominee for SIG 7, Aural Rehabilitation and Its Instrumentation, has won the position by acclamation.
Only full affiliates may participate in the coordinating committee elections. The appointed posts of professional development manager and Perspectives editor are not included in the elections.
