ASHA Special Interest Group 12, Augmentative and Alternative Communication, seeks nominees to present the 2014 Edwin and Esther Prentke AAC Distinguished Lecture at the 2014 ASHA Convention in Orlando.
The Prentke Lecture is an invited presentation, developed by SIG 12 and sponsored by the Prentke Romich Company and Semantic Compaction Systems.
A nominee must be a person who uses AAC; has public speaking experience and the ability to participate in a question-and-answer session with the audience; and has made a unique contribution to the field of AAC or had a unique experience as a person who uses AAC.
As the lecture is offered for continuing education units, its content must be scholarly, presented at the graduate level or higher, and delivered by a presenter with recognized scholarly competence in the topic.
The chosen lecturer receives a stipend to cover costs associated with attending the convention.
