We're compiling a book of photographs showcasing what our members do best—helping people communicate. And we want your Instagram photos to be a part of it!
From May 12 to 18, the third week of Better Hearing and Speech Month, take photos of your typical day as an SLP, audiologist or researcher, and share them through Instagram—an app that lets you filter, modify and edit photos any way your imagination allows.
How do you start your day and end it? What moments are especially meaningful? Joyful? Or even frustrating? Capture the landscape of your days and evenings.
Upload your photos to Instagram and include the hashtag #ashaigers in the caption.
Don't have Instagram? E-mail your photos to leader@asha.org with the subject line "Instagram." We'll upload them for you.
After May 18, we'll select photographs for the book, and feature some in our July issue. Everyone included in the book will receive accolades; 20 selected through a random drawing will receive a free copy. And keep the photos coming to #ashaigers after May 18, so we can select from them for our new recurring "Glimpses" feature in The ASHA Leader.
So be creative! Be expressive! Let your photographs reveal what is special about who you are and what you do!
Note: SLPs and audiologists, please remember to get the written permission of your clients if they are included recognizably in your photo. The Leader will require such permission for those who are selected to be included in a forthcoming issue and the book.
