Up to 20 emerging scientists and audiology students interested in a research career will receive awards to attend the 2012 ASHA Convention and pre-convention events, scheduled for Nov. 13–16 in Chicago.
Now in its sixth year, ASHA's Audiology/Hearing Science Research Travel Award provides convention registration and a $500 travel stipend. The awards allow recipients to:
  • Learn about the latest clinical and basic science research in audiology.

  • Make connections with leaders in the field.

  • Meet and network with peers.

  • Learn about funding opportunities to further research careers.

  • Eligible applicants may not have previously received this award, and at time of application must be enrolled in a:

  • PhD program in audiology or hearing science.

  • AuD program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Combined CAA-accredited AuD/PhD degree program.

  • Postdoctoral fellowship in audiology or hearing science.
