Audiologist ranks eighth in a list of “least stressful jobs” based on 11 factors, according to the 2016 evaluation by CareerCast, a job search portal.
The rankings factor in required travel, growth potential, deadlines, visibility to and interaction with the public, competition in the field, physical demands, environmental conditions, regular exposure to hazards, and risk to one’s own and others’ lives.
Audiologists have a median income of $73,060, and can expect a 29-percent growth in job opportunities from 2014 to 2024, according to the report. The position’s job-related stress score of 9.3 compares to the 84.78 score of enlisted military personnel—the most stressful job—and to the 3.8 score of information security analyst, the least stressful job.
